About Us
Libya's Exclusive Partner for Fire Security (Norway)
First Straight Path Co. (F.S.P.C) is proud to serve as the exclusive Libyan agent for Fire Security AS, headquartered in Kristiansand, Norway. For more than 40 years, Fire Security has protected thousands of assets worldwide - offshore and onshore oil & gas facilities, power plants, vessels of every type, renewable energy installations, telecommunications infrastructure, public transportation systems, and petrochemical plants.
Our mission is simple: Save Lives. Save Costs. Save the Environment. We help facility owners and operators in Libya protect their cables from fire, repair damage without costly replacement, and extend the working life of critical infrastructure - all without the downtime that traditional solutions require.
Save Lives
Cables that keep conducting through a fire keep alarms, pumps and escape routes alive.
Save Costs
Repair and protect in place at a fraction of replacement cost - usually with no shutdown at all.
Save the Environment
Every meter of cable kept in service avoids plastic waste and the emissions of making new cable.
Backed by a Global Network
Fire Security's turnkey solutions are class-approved by the world's leading certification bodies and have been proven on projects for Shell, TotalEnergies, Emirates Global Aluminium, and Carnival Cruise Line, among many others. As F.S.P.C, we bring this same expertise, these same certified systems, and Fire Security's own trained personnel to projects across Libya.

Our Solutions
Certified Sustainable Cable Maintenance
F.S.P.C offers three certified Fire Security (FS), Electrical cable maintenance services built on proven coating and repair systems:
· Cable Life Extension
· Cable Fire Protection
· Non-Disruptive Cable Repair
No. 1
Cable Maintenance and Life Extension
A cost-effective solution to prevent premature or unnecessary cable replacements. Cables exposed to UV, heat, oil, mud, chemicals, or other harsh conditions age faster than expected - becoming a safety hazard long before they reach end of life.
Our approved coating system restores and upgrades the cable's insulation properties while creating a protective new outer layer - no de-rating required, and no negative effect on the cable. Depending on the original condition of the cables, service life can often be extended by a factor of three, backed by a warranty of up to ten years.
No. 2
Cable Fire Protection
Passive fire protection by way of cable coating - applications can be completed on live cables with no disruption to your operations. Standard fire-rated cables aren't as fire-resistant as most people assume: IEC 60332 cables resist flame spread but lose conductivity almost immediately in a fire, and even IEC 60331 "fire-resistant" cables are typically tested only to 830°C.
FS manufactures two Class Approved coating systems, both tested to IEC 60331 and 60332, and additionally tested to the Hydrocarbon Fire Curve of 1100°C for a minimum of 60 minutes.
FS1 - Intumescent
Expands up to 100× its thickness in a fire; internal / partially sheltered use
FS5 - Ablative
Internal & external use; survives 1100°C for 60 min
Applied only by trained personnel, our water-based coatings resist weather, UV, oil, chemicals, and seawater, and require no maintenance once installed.
Best suited for: cable tunnels, electrical and MCC rooms, substations, and process/production areas.
No. 3
Non-Disruptive Cable Repair
Cracked, brittle, or damaged cables don't always need to be replaced. Our repair system rebuilds the outer sheath and armour, restores insulation and mechanical integrity, and finishes with FS fire protection coating as standard - so each repair also upgrades the cable's fire performance.
We repair cables while energized when safe and practical, meaning production shutdown is often not required.
We repair cables damaged by:
UV exposure and general aging Oil, drilling mud, and hydraulic fluid Fire Subsea armour corrosion Chafing (FPSOs and vessels) Mechanical impact Sharp bend-radius cracking on HV cable
Why FS Coating
A Fire Protection System That Doesn't Leave You Guessing
Active fire suppression - gas systems, sprinklers, water mist - only work if activated in time, and even then, cables are exposed to fire and heat until they do. FS Cable coating is different: it protects every cable, all the time, with no activation delay and no moving parts to maintain.
System
Key drawbacks
Relative cost
Gas Systems (CO2, Nitrogen)
Cables exposed until activation; gases can be toxic; heavy ongoing maintenance
High
Water/Mist Systems (Sprinkler, Hi-Fog)
Cables exposed until activation; constant maintenance; requires structural alterations
High
Cable Insulation Covers / Pillows
Impractical at scale; limits access to cables; may require de-rating
Medium
FS Cable Coating
100% reliable, no shutdown required, full cable access retained, no ongoing maintenance, 30+ year lifetime indoors
20–30% of active systems

Industries We Serve
Proven Across the Industries That Can't Afford Downtime
Fire Security's coating and repair systems have protected critical infrastructure across nearly every industry for more than 40 years. In Libya, we focus on the sectors where cable failure carries the highest cost.
Oil & Gas (Offshore & Onshore)
From production platforms to onshore processing facilities, cable failure can mean lost production, safety incidents, or both. Our systems are proven across the industry.
Power Generation
Protect the cables that keep power plants running - without taking them offline to do it.
Marine & Vessels
Coating trusted by operators including Carnival Cruise Line for engine rooms and critical shipboard systems.
Renewables
Extend the working life and fire safety of cabling in wind and solar installations.
Telecommunications
Keep critical communications infrastructure online and protected.
Public Transportation
Proven in metro and rail systems, where cable reliability is a safety requirement.
Petrochemicals
Purpose-built for the highest fire-risk industrial environments.

The proof
"Cable coating can significantly reduce the potential of cables being damaged in a fire, eliminating the need for sprinklers."
Senior Risk / Insurance Surveyor
Case in point: Emirates Aluminium (EMAL)
When EMAL planned to install active fire detection, sprinklers, and fire doors, Fire Security proposed cable coating instead. FM Global reviewed the proposal and classed it as superior to active systems for cable protection - at a fraction of the cost.
The Scale of the Risk
A typical cable room can hold more than 15,000 kg of PVC cable sheathing - a potential heating value of 75,000 kWh. In a fire, that releases hundreds of thousands of litres of hydrochloric acid gas and millions of cubic metres of toxic smoke. Coating prevents that fire load from ever igniting.

Sustainability
Every Meter Kept in Service Is Waste Avoided
Extending the life of a cable is one of the most effective ways to reduce industrial waste and emissions. Our coatings are certified to ISO 14001, are LEED and EPA 24 compliant, and contain no solvents, phosphates, or asbestos. They release no toxic gas or smoke - even in a fire.
By keeping cables in service instead of replacing them, F.S.P.C helps clients avoid the environmental cost of cable production and disposal:
1 m
of cable kept in service = the emissions of a car driven 82 miles
10 m
= the CO2 equivalent of 39,975 smartphone charges
100 m
= 1.1 tonnes of landfill waste avoided
1,000 m
= the emissions from 76 barrels of oil
Based on a 630 mm² HV cable - GWP of 32,863 kg CO₂eq per 1,000 m produced.
